His response the machine is laying on it:eek:

FFS! sorry to see that happen to anybody's machine, worse still when its someone you know.

Never say never and anybody who thinks it can never happen to them has got a lot of seat foam to digest before they realise just how easily it can happen with slight distraction.

Rrv landrover ran away,long downgrade in the snow,hit rrv liebher,c/w trailer,drill rig,compressor,all up approx 27 ton @ 50 mph!
Fortunately all survived, had machines derailed, would've ended up down bank in a wintery Scottish loch,no radio or phone signal

for a 50mph impact that LR is in remarkably good nick ...... roof rack let go, and the front end's fooked but otherwise the passenger compartment looks pretty good ... doubt it'd have been the same story without the rrv gear up front

odd one cleared mustve been whoever loaded them
seemed to be a different build, without the sticky up bit on top

might as well of carried on,f***ed most of them by the time he stopped
a wonder he even noticed Mart  .... someone must've 'informed' him :giggle:;).... wonder what the pipe on the gantry was carrying ?
pretty elementary **** up though ... the running height must be pretty carefully monitored on a train ... or you'd have thought, anyway

Hit the pintle hitch,'apparently' bloke was trying to drop rear bogie, but stalled so no brakes,if he hadn't hit rrv would've been doing 60+ at points in station, which were set to run into siding, where tamper stabled, lucky no other guys in worksite

Seems amazing in such a health and safety obsessed environment that they don’t fail to a safe condition - surely no engine should automatically mean full brake application?

Trailers do since the tebay fatality, but problem here and as frozen snow on rails, wheels could've been locked solid n would still have slid, bearing in mind train speed on this line is limited to 20 mph
