2012 Bobcat e26 Running issues

Hi

My mates got a Bobcat e26 and when your using it as it gets warmer it starts dropping its revs and idling with a tapping sound then eventually it starts to cut out then won’t run until cooled down I’ve changed all the filters blown all the fuel lines out and flushed the diesel tank and the issue is still there

Is this a common problem and does anyone know what the cause could be? It’s done just over 4000hrs

sounds like it's nipping up ...... what's the cooling system like ... rad clean, system full, thermo opening??
could also be over heating if starving of fuel and running 'lean' ... is the temp gauge working properly ....... tapping could well be pre-ignition caused by hot spots in the cylinders or lean fueling

Radiator has been steam cleaned and all the cooling system I flushed out a few weeks ago and running at normal temp

To me it sounds like a diesel knock if I’m being honest but could it be a dodgy injector even though it only happens when warm? or should I be looking closer to the fuel pump?

Check oil pressure! What engine is in it?

Sounds daft but how would I do that? it’s a kubota engine

Take off the rocker cover and see if it’s dry! Does the oil light go out when starting, is the oil pressure switch connected at the engine end?

could the knocking be an injector sticking slightly open when hot i have had knocking from a broken injector it sounded like a big end gone but it was all the time could an injector stick when hot?

I’ll have a look when I’m back at the farm tomorrow but the oil light goes out once started and checked all sensors ect and everything looked connected up and normal so I’ll have a look I phoned local bobcat dealer they couldn’t / wouldn’t tell me what oil it needed just said bobcat oil and they’ve none in stock and they couldn’t answer any of the questions I had asked so useless

I've had issues before with the fule pump regulator/solenoid on a kubota engine. That caused it to knock.

Not something simple like a loose engine mount is it? Be easy to rule out.

I’ve been over all of them pal first thing I done was check any parts that can cause rattles / clinks and it’s loosing power aswell once it dies off all the hydraulics loose power aswell

Is there any excess smoke from the exhaust? Remove the air filter see if there is any popping back through the manifold, I’m going for at the moment loose or over tight tappest, maybe loose rot broken rocker shaft bolts! Remove the rocker cover let’s have a look

I’ll whip it off in the morning and get some pics see what you think with regards to smoke it’s just normal big cloud of white smoke first start then after that clears through the day
