Whats your go-to brand for this? Five bedrooms, plenty of access.

What have you found to be best value for money, easy to install and reliable?

We installed a Graff last year that certainly seemed to be better built than the kings pan we usually install. After installing the Graff which is made out of a thick plastic similar to water pipe, it makes the fibreglass ones look pretty poor.

We installed another type a couple of years ago bought by the client and made from sheets of stock board, it was square. Can't remember the make but remember it was bought on price. We installed it but I would have no faith in it and was harder to install as you had to rake the concrete base perfectly flat to avoid voids.

I’ve always used marsh ensign tanks, but did a tricel last, very happy with it, a much sturdier tank!
Although the rep accidentally sent me a email which was meant for one of his colleagues slating me for ‘being on at him all night’ for trying to sort a slight issue out which was just me not knowing their model range inside out,🤦‍♂️ but they sent out the missing compressor hose fittings out regardless.

Tricel are a well made tank but the primary settlement tank is small and can require more frequent emptying depending on usage obviously.
Gone away from blown treatment plants here to compact filters which bring their own issues but in the right conditions are a much better solution imho

Go for a Graff one to clean . I’ve installed loads of them now . Most recent one at my place . I nearly always concreted tanks in but Graff say only necessary in horrendously wet conditions . They are easy to install . The air pump is outside of the tank in a separate box with the control module in it . It has a sampling chamber inside the lid so you don’t need an additional one . They work really well and Graff have a great after service and commission it for free . You just need to make sure you get it sitting level in the hole and get the gradients right . Then back fill with 10 or 20mm pipe bedding .

I think most tanks can be gravelled up, but when you’re putting concrete in for the base you may as well have a full load and use the rest around it! I just work it into the price knowing it ain’t going to pop up in wet weather once it’s been emptied!

That’s my thoughts as well , if the Client won’t take my advice to concrete in then I won’t do the job . Graff actually spec no concrete though in most cases .

Ok...just had marsh emptied.
2 years old , had a lot of crust and sediment so going to do it yearly going forward. I reckon it's her insinkerator filling it with crap...and yes we've had the discussion 😬

Apart from that all good. Blower still chugging away
Lad did say they've packed in installing tanks and just sticking to emptying etc now as most round us are on clay and need pumps as low lying and always cause aggro.

Pics for the tankophiles.

Them old marsh tanks with internal compressors are a pain!!
If the condensation doesn’t kill them a flash flood instantly does!! 🤯
