Trench Rates

Short of forking out for a copy of Spons... anyone able to give me some ideas on prices for the following work.

30m trench across lawn.
Turf cutter to remove turf.
Ground boards.
500mm x 150mm wide trench.
40mm conduit with 10mm oil line+marker tape. (Price of materials
Issued separately)
Pipe bedding (probably 2 dumpys)
Refill with trench rammer.
Relay turf with sand to get level and flat.
Brush/ flymow to clean area.
Muck away surplus soil. (2 cube metre maybe)
No known services but would suspect tile drains as georgian rectory.

I'm guessing loading/unloading and the work would suck up 2 men and a boy for 2 days for a tidy clean job. Will be pricing it at around £2200+vat inc materials /plant and waste. Wondering how that would compare to others.

Yep sounds ok to me I stopped pricing oil ones as they don't want to pay what the job is worth

Oil Engineers are tight bastards! Thanks for feedback. Normally its a short trench so easier to factor costs. Don't think I have done 30m across a lawn before.

If you don’t know about services neither do they… I’d get in and out with a little trencher in a day with two blokes.

Would still charge them £3k plus ORT plus VAT though…

I usually detail the ground works and price it separate and always suggest they see if they can get anyone cheaper. Interesting the range of responses on here!

The grass seed is so he can make tea with it and "read the seed". It's how he decides what to add to his growing fleet.

We did a job for trust and spec was to reseed at end, came to seeding and trust rangers specified this upland wildflower meadow seed and it was £48 for 100 grams lol

My £200 (25kg bag of amenities seed is £86) for seeding in budget soon got blown out the window lol, farmer wanted rye grass for his sheep to eat as well lol
