Saw these on Facebook market place. We are coming to that time of year and these look cheap.

Those look quite fine indeed! Wish there was something like that down here. Just last month purchased a stack of ply packing sheets for the same use and a couple of sheets of 5mm thick HDPE. All the other options seem a bit extreme for a mini mini ex.

I’d have thought you enterprising Kiwis would have Stokboard available - might be worth seeing if you can licence its manufacture over there, I reckon it would sell well’

We have a few sheets of the 12mm boards cut into thirds. 800x1200 Makes nice little boards for spoil boards and slewing small tracked machines to prevent marking up the ground. 6mm IMHO is too thin to do any good.

I was only linking that as it came up on a quick search - I didn’t check the thickness. Obviously they are available in a range of thicknesses (similar to plywood) - the thick Stokboards are incredibly resilient.

Stokbord looks like a good product. Generally enterprising here equals expensive 😅. Been searching for ages, just searched again and found a crowd called Save Board. Does some interesting things with recycled plastic.

Here's some HPDE cut down from dig stop cable cover, carpet tape and cable ties to defend against the dipper police.

I could do with some new ones, mine are looking a bit dog eared.

Has anyone managed to repair rips, can they be welded or stitched up?

Yes I have got a pallet of them. Light duty. They are smooth on one side. Great for MICRO machines on hardish ground. Cover patios / paving / dry lawn / gravel / use as banker boards. you would NOT want to track a loaded 3t dumper across a wet lawn with them, too bendy for that. I keep one in the bottom of each trailer to save wearing the floors out. Also good for slewing machines around on driveways etc to save marking surfaces. I reiterate - they ARE not suitable for putting anything bigger than a Micro over wet ground.
