Looking at this as a potential purchase. It's tilt rotator ready (4 pipe) with 2 auxiliary lines and controls on the joystick as standard, is very much being branded as a '2 ton tool carrier' for the owner operator. I hear takeuchi have a good reputation, residual resale value is high, that they are well built and reliable. Anyone had any experience with this model? Or takeuchi in general? Thanks 👌

We’ve got a 2015 216 and its been bulletproof and very powerful for its size. Got a nearly new 210r on job atm which is very nice. Got a 290 and had a 230 on another job and again very nice. Id rank them as top manufacturer for minis in my opinion.

I’ve got 3 Takeuchis from 3 to 15 tonnes and they are brilliant. They don’t go wrong, ever.
Assuming the joystick aux control setup is the same (and I would assume it is, as they are all the same in my machines) they give very good proportional flow control as standard, and it can be easily adjusted through the control panel. I run 4 hose tiltys on mine and they work brilliantly as far as I’m concerned.

I'm a big fan of takeuchi, none of mine have EVER let me down but the 216 never hit the spot with me and as the 320 is so closely related- more or less same cab and arm slightly upspecced and plonked on a 219 undercarriage - I didnt want to take the risk with one again.
I really wish they had sorted out proper track pedals too as everyone else seems to manage it in a 2 ton machine these days!

That has been my number 1 annoyance with smaller takeuchis, The dam pedals are unusable on every smaller model I have used like the 216 just has two little sticks, how hard would it have been to add a set of folding pedals.
