Steel fabrication

Quick one, after a CE certified fabrication company to make me some steelwork up for my house renovation, I have a bloody good welder/fabricator but he can’t do CE work. Ideally north west but one beam is 13.3 meters (204x204 86UC ) long so would need transport anyway so it’s no odds I guess.

Brad Rushton have just done me a building and I’m really pleased with it, just outside Nantwich.

Really? Didn’t know that... my man is fully mobile!
It is true, work carried out on site is not covered in en1090 CE marking for structural steel. The thing is you need to speak with your structural engineer as some of them will not sign off the final q-form to enable you to get a completion certificate if there is not a declaration of conformance for the steel work. What is required for the build? If it is just lengths of steel then most of the steel stockists can supply this with letter of conformity. If there's welding to do then welding procedures and qualifications come into play.
We had an audit from the BBA at the beginning of January for our EN1090 FPC certificate and it's not straight forward

Going with my fabricator in Derbyshire who we have used (as a family) for 25+ yrs, they are 1k cheaper than a ‘local’ company.. no brainer as they are always spot on too!

Sheet metal fabrication is the process by which metal sheets are transformed into required form and structure. CNC operators cut, fold, bend or form metal sheets by using press brakes or laser cutting machines. In some cases, chop saws, band saws and cutting torches are also used but these instruments are mainly restricted to the small-scale industry.
if you're referring to O2 /DA/propane, it's old hat ...... plasma these days for light sheet work ;):giggle:

Or heavy steel work😉 don’t use mine as much as I should🤔 as I’m pretty good with the ‘touch’👍 But been using it a bit on my trailer re-build as it cuts through scaled steel without spitting💪 and it clean cuts 1” plate💪💪

Not dead, though. A stepped nozzle has got me out of the doo-doos a few times over the years.

Look for a CE certified fabrication company in the North West region to handle your house renovation steelwork, as your preferred welder/fabricator lacks CE certification. Transport arrangements should be considered for the longer beam regardless of location. steelofy.co.uk
WTF???????
