I hope I'm not wasting anyone's time but I need to import some parts for a small gearbox made in Dodge City, USA and I wondered if anyone has any idea how I can acheive it.

The manufacturers have the 2 spiral helical gears which are about 50mm in diameter and 20mm in thickness and a shaft which is about 25mm in diameter and 150mm in length, all of which I need for a repair. Not sure of the total weight but surely no more than 5kgs, might be as low as 3kgs. They are not being very helpful because although they will sell the parts to me and I assume that I can pay on-line (they use the terminolgy "by wire" ! ) they have told me that any shipment and the costs thereby incurred is for me to organise and pay for. I haven't got a clue as to how to go about doing this (I bank on-line so that part shouldn't be a problem ) and wondered if anyone on this Forum could help or advise me ? I have contacted DHL but haven't received any reply.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice given.

Try parcelhero.com not always the cheapest but seriously hassle free if you not used to importing.
They'll sort all paperwork. Pay up front online and then they'll prob be a import duty you pay before delivery.
Fedex will prob be cheapest if...you know someone with a proper account.

To give you an idea of prices Ive just organised an import from Minneapolis this week. 30kg prices were from £500 to £300.
Needless to say they've all shot up since covid 😖

Thank you all very much for your help, it is much appreciated. I did tick the box to let me know if my topic had received any replies but not heard anything. Does that option not work on this site ?

I will try the suggestions put forward tomorrow when the working week starts. I think the problem with the manufacturers, who are gearbox manufacturers for smaller machines, is that they sell what they make to the companies who make the end product and usually sell in hundreds, if not thousands. And all I want is a couple of small gears and a shaft and it is deemed to be hardly worth their while messing about with small orders. They have the things that I want but I think they probably stopped making the gearbox 20-ish years ago and so the bits are just on the shelf somewhere.
