Looking at buying a second hand 536-60 agri model 2016 2017 or thereabouts 5-7k hrs, hoping to run it to 12-13k hrs. What is to look out for.

I hear bad reports about the early 6 speed box were they sorted out in later models.

What repairs should I be expecting by 12-13k hrs.

Don't buy newer than 2015 unless you want Ad-blue. The pre Ad blue give way less issues. The rest is all easily fixable. Look for an AgriSuper and one that has been looked after and you'll get to those hours without too much grief. Buy a well used one and you'll struggle to make 8k without big bills. Turbo's are VGT and the common rail injectors can give issues with bad fuel. The water pumps do fail but cheap and easy to fit. Check for mud buildup below radiators as that rots the bottom of the radiators or the valve block sat below. Loads of other bits but take me a while to write them all. Good machines and great to drive.

you dont have a good opinion of the JCB lifespan i think

It's more that it's an agri spec one. They are generally thrashed, used for jobs they aren't intended for and poorly maintained. If you don't need the pickup hitch see if you can find a waste master. They have the big engine and proper joystick but without the waiting around in cowsh1t and being used as a digger abuse that they agri ones get.

The Ad blue can be solved with a delete ? Are there other issues outside of adblue that later than 2015 machines tend to have compared to pre 2015

Ran them for 20 years.. kinda know what I’m on about.
Expect the worst and you’ll never be disappointed

I dont doubt your experience, good to have a seasoned capaigner on the thread, no substitute for talking to someone with direct experience

What issues did your jcbs suffer from

If you were purchasing an 8ton tele for agri use would you go for something rather than a jcb

Ive never had to pay the bills but have driven a lot of them and the best made and nicest I have driven where the claas scorpion/Kramer
Very well made and designed very ergonomic and, hydrostatic transmission is great.
Manitou have a silly joystick electric window and the sli is awkward. JCB don't feel as stable but are by far the quickest, merlot are just not as ergonomic as anything else. New Holland, Massey and bobcat are rare so the chance of second hand components are less likely.

I’d buy jcb.. I’m just saying that at them hours expect plenty of repair bills, that goes for any brand! I’m not bashing Jcbs in the slightest!
At sub 5k hours I’ve gone through - engines/hydraulic pumps/rams/pins/bushes/radiators/transmissions/ boom wear pads/countless hydraulic hoses/ brakes-master cylinders.. fuses/relays.. you name it it will break! And I’m no rough bugger believe it or not!

That's quite a list

How many machines in your fleet

You move them on at 5k hrs

And I would say telehandlers are one of the more delicate machines, especially if you put a bucket or muck grab on them regularly.
