I have reached the stage in my life where a magnetic drill is on my wish list. This one popped up locally. Anyone got any comments?
I have virtually no experience apart from playing with a mates M18 mag drill. 110v no problem for me, that’s what we use mostly when it’s not cordless.

I have a alfra rotabest I would need to check which model but seem to remember it has a gearbox with several speeds. My only complaint is the magnet isn’t very strong . I have a smaller mag drill which I use for site work just because the alfra is a bit of a handful.

alfra is good gear, but that's as much as you'd want to pay for it s/h - bout half new price, but has had work done

loads of cheapies on amazon ... depends how much use you're gonna give it really ... my Magtron 100 is pushing 1700 hundred quid now, but have had it at least 25 years

I am guessing that drill has had a hard life as it has needed new brushes & armature and the seller has felt the need to renew with a bigger drill & list it sold as seen.

orbital fasteners have always been very cheap for mag drills ... had my last little 32mm one off them -- cheapest price anywhere back then

Bought today. £150 and he threw in the frame he made for drilling safes

Apparently he used to work opening safes and the newer ones didn’t have enough metal for the magnet, hence the frame. I didn’t ask wether it was his day job or just a part time out of hours occupation for cash .
