FFS. Skivers charter.

A good lad I work with leaves tonight for AUS .... permanently..just got visa . Waved him off last night with a tinge of jealousy I have to admit....if I didn't have pretty ill parents on both sides I'd be seriously contemplating hot footing it...that's before the new taxes are announced ☹️

If ever there was an excuse to use mechanisation/robots/AI to replace human labour this is it.
That’s one of my fathers sayings . Why would you ever employ a human to do a job that a machine can do?

I employ about 10 people , it’s not as bad as all that, I find subcontractors and customers far more hassle than employees …

Still a lot of uncertainty and it's got a whole to go before it kicks in but definitely some things to be wary of. In short it gives scope for trouble causers working from home from day one and more power to unions.

At what point will it dawn on folk that the free money/gravy train will stop and we all have to roll our sleeves up and actually go to work?

Working from home is the biggest doss that’s been had for years . Also all the public sector contracts going way over budget with the knowledge that it’s all ok the government will pay . There is no end to people getting paid handsomely for sweet fa in the public sector . As the Lancs lad says the gravy train needs to stop .

Nobody working from home gives a 100% i dont care what anyone says when you a physically at work working and doing something you love doing you will even give 110%. At the wifes livery yard she has people suposidly working from home come down during the day riding there horses its a joke especially when they are in well paid jobs in Banking and also public sector,! The only way to get the economy back on track is to get people back to work in the office.

I will argue this a little. We have 3 full time office staff and since covid we still have each doing a days work at home one day a week. It keeps us flexible and if a staff member has child care issues or is Ill it often means they can put in a days work rather than being absent/Ill/ taking as unpaid. Also we pay door to door, so straight away someone working from home saves me upto an hours pay a day in saved travel time .
I don’t like it being more than 1 in 5 / 20% of time WFM but it does have its benefits in my experience.

I think its something worth considering in this weather.

Was at a business event thing last month, talking to a group of other bosses they all agreed first question that new recruits ask in an interview is ‘what’s your working from home policy?’ They literally couldn’t care less about anything else!!
Just the way it is now!
The amount of offices up forsale/rent is staggering!!
