It's been mentioned to us in the past about posting anything online, insurance companies do there home work and sus you out what your up to. Or even they can use it as leverage to get out of paying out any funds. The last twice I've ratchet strapped a 3 stage ladder onto the forklift mast at full height to get extra reach I've video'd it but kept to myself, don't want people knowing I'm doing that 🙄

I think he means you posts pics say of pulling a big stump out a river weir your insurance company starts trying to insure you like you’re some Dutch dredging contractor etc

100%.

I Sat down with my current insurance company last week, and they have told me I'm covered. They said its more of a clause for shipping canals, ports, docks etc.

The same company who brought up the stump out of the river also said i wasn't covered for Demolition works. It turns out i am, if it's part of a groundworks package. Which I thought was the case

That's another thing about insurance wranglings I don't like, it states weird comments in the policy documents. Like on ours it states (or used to)" use of metal working machinery for cutting, shaping and forming of metal excluding electronically controlled machinery" when I asked about it he just said that's a general message from a drop down selection box on their system. I'm saying that maybe so but it's on our policy documents so would that mean we're not coved if the s**t hits the fan 🤔 he can say it's not relevant all he wants but it's on there and we use machines that are electronically controlled. We'll see if it's on the new policy

So the latest is we can't get vehicle insurance for anyone under 21 and minimum 2 years driving experience 😣 despite last year they were able to drive the work vans I now have to tell them they can't. What is going on, it's like nobody wants the young generation to succeed in anyway!

very common though Mike ... most're a liability ... it can be gotten, but at a cost  ....
it's always been the same under 21, even when we were that age, insurance came at a significant cost ...
I can recall paying 25-30% of my vehicles cost to insure it :(

Can you add them as named drivers. Under 21's have to be named on all vehicles where I work and under 25's named on pickups and 4x4's.

We used to be any driver, then it was any driver over 25 with the youngers on as named drivers now it's any driver over 21 and they not prepared to insure the guys we have under 21, one 19 one 20. Zurich are willing to insure but they are double the cost coming in around £9k just for vans and lorry 🫨

Would make it very difficult for large companies especially those with a lot of agency staff
