E19 is a single pin. To my mind it makes more sense- less cost overall than two small ones surely?
Id have thought so too. Suppose it makes it easier to route all the hoses centrally through the kingpost- less rubbing etc but who knows why they've gone that way.

The kingpost isn't though- that's what I'm referring. The old TB016 used to have a single pin to fit the kingpost to the digger but now everything seems to have gone split pin

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
as said, as a split pin they really need to be a press/interference fit and have a couple of good size grub screws to keep them as stationary as possible ... a single locator/retainer bolt will do absolutely sod all to prevent the pin jiggling about in a slide fit hole - installing a couple of good size grubs at say 90-120 deg.s spacing would reduce the issues dramatically
basically a pretty crap idea -- unless you're the poor sod trying to route all the plumbing

Hmm so little details like this should be the kind of quality acknowledged when buying a new digger. I wonder if any manufacturers do as you describe🤔

the other way of locking those pins would be a tapered cotter pin as you'd find in an old skool bicycle crank or the king pins on many steering axles (3CX 2WD for instance) ;)
