Grease recommendations -wet weather

My Kubota u17 lives outside. Someone suggested I should be using “green waterproof“ grease. I have been using run of the mill EP2.

I have been working on the basis that if you grease before every use, it doesn’t need to be anything special.

Are some brands much better than others? Should I be using something more expensive than a standard EP2?

It seems to rain most days now!

cheers

I use the Fuchs blue grease. Seems to be good stuff. Have you ever tried washing grease away! Id say if your greasing regularly I wouldn't worry too much about using anything fancy. A little and often is my motto

If you really want to look after it then the grease it before you park it up as well as before you use it. That way less chance of water getting in in the first place.
And definitely grease up after washing
Yeah deffo. My takeuchi has worn in in the kingpost but it's not the actual pin and bush that's always greases it's the bore where the pin is attached to the kingpost and isn't greasable. Water sits there and probably corrodes.

All my kit lives outside, always has,Justgrease with daily use, couple of shots per pin on a little machine will be fine, the rain ain’t gonna wash those pins dry,I suspect whoever suggested waterproof grease has not spent a lifetime working with kit like most of the wise old heads on here!

Yeah that's the one. Grease is more pricey but the guns are lovely to use. No mess or airlocks

I prefer the pistol grip version. Less psi but not a problem for what I use it for and nice to have a hand spare to attend the nipple.

I use jcb blue grease, 4 boxes for the price of 3 is a decent offer which they put on every so often
