So why are the suppliers pushing the prices up when crude prices have been remarkably stable recently?

There was a spike at the end of last month. Dropped back now but the rise is just lag in the system

You may have seen in the news recently, that there is a likelihood that the Chancellor will announce an increase to fuel duty, when she presents the budget next week, on Wednesday 30th October.
