What man as done, man can do, what never has, maybe
already thought of similar ...
two options ...
put me blade forks on and carry him on the blade
or
put his blade on top of the 'Drema's blade, on the floor, swing around 180 and put his bucket on, either me VA-r forks facing backwards, or in my favourite 3ft Geith bucket , then lift blade a bit and boom up a bit - sorted
will try it when the weather is a bit more conducive to having a play about ....
would save a lot of tracking about for sure

seems ages since I've had anything 'productive' to share ... and none of this is for me :(
Email from Serge week last Monday ... could I knock this out for him - no rush - anytime in the next month or so
IMG_6152.jpg

for his Triumph Bonneville .. having the wheels rebuilt ..... " no sweat - let you know when I've sorted it "
'nother email Thursday morning - he's doing a genny down the road Friday last, any chance if he calls round after he's finished
so guess what I was up to last Thursday morning while harper had her nap

WP_20240313_16_34_04_Pro.jpg

could not find a piece of 1-1/4", but had a piece of 35mm handy .... he said it'd be fine and to leave the extra attached for 'sacrifice' to the knockometer if needed - or he could soon lop it off otherwise

then I get 'volunteered' to take a look at Pam's mates Karcher ..... arrived Thurday evening ... leaking water apparently - know exactly why without even looking - been left with water in on a frosty night :(
damn me Pam's got the bloody thing out on the Friday morning to see what it's like .... - peeing water out of course 🤬 and she's all set up to pressure the drive off (did some of it last week) - unbelievable the tish that collects on it round the house - so had to get out little one, set that up and left her to it, whilst I pulled the Karcher to bits .... not a badly made little thing

but sure enough - head cracked ...
WP_20240316_13_17_20_Pro.jpg

three piston pump with a swash plate driving 'em - quite neat with some pretty hefty springs powering 'em
WP_20240316_13_17_36_Pro.jpg
This is a K4 Compact according to the plate .... found what looked to be the part on fleabay .. genuine karcher for 32 quid for a K4 ... messaged the seller with all the model details and a pic of the plate -- couldn't tell me if the K4 and K4 Compact were one and the same pump :mad: ... need to ask Karcher 🤬 ..... fortunately I'd re-assembled it, 'cos it might be a while, 'fore it gets repaired  ..... all for the sake of a little care after using it 🤬

Pam's washing efforts - as said the tish accumulation is unreal and invisible 'til you wash it ..... the black line is before being attacked ..

Took Clara home into town Tuesday after school as she had a swimming lesson and Pam was already at Vicki's with Harper after a play group session/collection in Aber ... to find their gate ajar .... catch had died, so removed the offending article (read as - piece of junk) and brought the bits home for 'improvement'/repair ..... Job for yesterday morning
WP_20240320_13_46_41_Pro.jpg

original is 4mm - new one is 6mm :giggle: .... set up was missing a 'component' and giving the latch some serious grief, every time the gate closed, so had to make up a sliding keep too
WP_20240320_14_10_57_Pro.jpg
WP_20240320_14_20_36_Pro.jpg

this is an absolute must for anyone's workshop / tool cupboard ..... had a Goliath in work for years and as usual regretted selling it when I cleared out the shop ... found this one in Katsu's arsenal couple of years ago, for 110 quid and had to be had (last time I looked a Goliath, which is essentially what this is a copy of, was well over a grand) :oops:o_O ...
you have to think outside the box a bit, to get the desired result sometimes, but is a great little bender
WP_20240320_14_05_14_Pro.jpg

WP_20240320_14_25_44_Pro.jpg

not gone up a huge amount and highly recommended (y) ...... has an even better flexibility, in the tooling range with it, than my old Goliath had - bit of practice and it's impressive what can be done with a bar bender - Have found Aims tools have always been great to deal with and TBH for the cost of their Katsu gear, it's fine for my sort of use these days - dunno how they'd stick production/everyday use, but I have no complaints about anything I've had from them

so .... been so long since it's been decent enough weather to get anything done for me, I've forgotten what I had lined up altogether :unsure: ........... but I'm sure 'the boss' will have plenty of 'can you justs ' lined up
grass is desperate but got 3" of standing water in places on the lawn ..... 's gonna need a couple of good drying weeks, 'fore I can even contemplate putting the Dane, or the Countax over it all .... lawn's gonna need the Dane for a first cut this year - 't ain't stopped growing this winter 🤬

this got its first 'flight' today ......
WP_20240322_16_18_33_Pro.jpg

flew fine

been down at Vicki's house in the village, to dismantle their swing, trampoline and juggle their picnic bench out to where I can get at it to transport it into Aber tomorrow (should've been this afters, but ..... )

all came to bits well and having cleared the garden out, thought i'd better cut the grass and make it a bit more presentable
job sorted and about to head back home for a trailer and got collared by her neighbour .. did I know anyone who'd collect some scrap ... absolutely !! (y)(y)

had been meaning to have words with him about the pile of car junk he'd got parked ' in view ' as you walked into Vicki's place and this negated the need ....
came back and thanked me .. Tony me scrappy's grandson was in the area and would be there in about twenty minutes (thought - yeh right - ) ... so rang him meself, as I had a pile here he could have too - make it worth his effort - sure enough he was as said - local and on his way - result, so had to come back home and extract my scrap pile from behind me scaffolding pallet ..... hence its first flight
so today's job has now been extended to a tomorrow finish .... but did get a lot achieved today

nearly broke me leg, putting the 'Drema away afterwards .. managed to catch the 'Drema's door on the genny beside it, lifting the front axle over into its usual spot ... as I'm putting it back down said door caught on the genny and lifted off its hinge pins ..... just managed to catch it, with me left hand and foot ... which nearly dragged me out the cab.. flipped the dead man quick and wrestled it sort of onto the genny's air vent .... struggling with a significant lump of door, in a relatively confined space, did not bode well, and thought as I'm wrestling it, "If I slip here, 's gonna be the left leg minimum - but deffo a trip to hospital !! " ... amazing where you find the strength when you have to .... but had to have a sit down for ten after ... was a bloody heavy door :oops:o_O

well i might find that one on faceache same symptoms
got a link to it Bob... all these little pressure washers are prone to idiots leaving them with water in the pump on a cold night .. drain it or lose it .... The K4's owner is finding me the paperwork for it, for a direct contact for bits with Karcher

It’d be amazing to have an on-hand free-to-use plumber/electrician/childminder/removals company/handyman/tool hire combo! Probably equal to an additional £30k plus annual household income!
been shifting Vicki's stuff all day, reassembling it, fitting the new gate latch (perfick(y)) and then back to the village, for a load of crap to bring home to feed the burning bin ... feet are hanging off, back's in half -- getting too old for this lugging tish ..... but then who else is gonna do it for 'em ...:unsure:

know what you mean ... but ...
between work and the kids their days disappear ... Vicki teaches and spends at least two hours every evening prepping school work or marking, etc. .. Chris also works in the same school as what we'd have once known as the 'kid catcher' ... these days it's social welfare type tish and refereeing/policing the dross ... he's 'sposed to be 8 til 5, but rarely home before six ... they both have their hands full with that, aside from the two girls ... would be different if they didn't put in the effort they do. ;)
