seems ages since I've had anything 'productive' to share ... and none of this is for me
Email from Serge week last Monday ... could I knock this out for him - no rush - anytime in the next month or so
for his Triumph Bonneville .. having the wheels rebuilt ..... "
no sweat - let you know when I've sorted it "
'nother email Thursday morning - he's doing a genny down the road Friday last, any chance if he calls round after he's finished
so guess what I was up to last Thursday morning while harper had her nap
could not find a piece of 1-1/4", but had a piece of 35mm handy .... he said it'd be fine and to leave the extra attached for 'sacrifice' to the knockometer if needed - or he could soon lop it off otherwise
then I get 'volunteered' to take a look at Pam's mates Karcher ..... arrived Thurday evening ... leaking water apparently - know exactly why without even looking - been left with water in on a frosty night
damn me Pam's got the bloody thing out on the Friday morning to see what it's like ....
- peeing water out of course
and she's all set up to pressure the drive off (did some of it last week) - unbelievable the tish that collects on it round the house - so had to get out little one, set that up and left her to it, whilst I pulled the Karcher to bits .... not a badly made little thing
but sure enough - head cracked ...
three piston pump with a swash plate driving 'em - quite neat with some pretty hefty springs powering 'em
This is a K4 Compact according to the plate .... found what looked to be the part on fleabay .. genuine karcher for 32 quid for a K4 ... messaged the seller with all the model details and a pic of the plate -- couldn't tell me if the K4 and K4 Compact were one and the same pump
... need to ask Karcher
..... fortunately I'd re-assembled it, 'cos it might be a while, 'fore it gets repaired
..... all for the sake of a little care after using it
Pam's washing efforts - as said the tish accumulation is unreal and invisible 'til you wash it ..... the black line is before being attacked ..
Took Clara home into town Tuesday after school as she had a swimming lesson and Pam was already at Vicki's with Harper after a play group session/collection in Aber ... to find their gate ajar .... catch had died, so removed the offending article (read as - piece of junk) and brought the bits home for 'improvement'/repair ..... Job for yesterday morning
original is 4mm - new one is 6mm
.... set up was missing a 'component' and giving the latch some serious grief, every time the gate closed, so had to make up a sliding keep too
this is an absolute must for anyone's workshop / tool cupboard ..... had a Goliath in work for years and as usual regretted selling it when I cleared out the shop ... found this one in Katsu's arsenal couple of years ago, for 110 quid and had to be had (last time I looked a Goliath, which is essentially what this is a copy of, was well over a grand)
...
you have to think outside the box a bit, to get the desired result sometimes, but is a great little bender
not gone up a huge amount and highly recommended
...... has an even better flexibility, in the tooling range with it, than my old Goliath had - bit of practice and it's impressive what can be done with a bar bender - Have found Aims tools have always been great to deal with and TBH for the cost of their Katsu gear, it's fine for my sort of use these days - dunno how they'd stick production/everyday use, but I have no complaints about anything I've had from them

so .... been so long since it's been decent enough weather to get anything done for me, I've forgotten what I had lined up altogether
........... but I'm sure 'the boss' will have plenty of '
can you justs ' lined up
grass is desperate but got 3" of standing water in places on the lawn ..... 's gonna need a couple of good drying weeks, 'fore I can even contemplate putting the Dane, or the Countax over it all .... lawn's gonna need the Dane for a first cut this year - 't ain't stopped growing this winter
