Case Cx80c not Steering as should

Hi
I just bought a Case CX80C.
Good tight wee digger. Only problem is trying to steer tracks. 2 levers full forward no problem. 2 levers full back no problem. Also it will push with blade no problem.
When I go to steer one lever has to be in neutral before the other one will drive and vise versa.
Was reading up last night and it may be the Proportional Valve beside Hydraulic pump. ??
It may be sticking.
Yesterday while using it I come across a large Rock buried and had a bit getting it removed.
I had to Bang it a few times which obviously vibrated the digger. I moved to get a different angle at it and it steered ok and as soon as I changed direction to steer back to old tricks again. It’s seems as though flow of oil only goes to one side at time when Steering ??
Anyone come across this before? Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Thanks for reply
Tried both high and low and high and low rev.
Undercarriage is good to fair. Normal wear and tear. Rubber tracks. Rollers and idlers all good.

I had a similar problem with a cx15 (not mine) it had too much free play in the travel levers where they pivot on top of the valve block.

Thanks for your replies. Firstly it doesn’t matter which way I steer it’s the same.
Levers seem normal and tight but that’s not to say it could be them. It only has 4000 hours on it and possibly too soon for wear on lever??

Is it definitely going into low speed? I have seen machines not switch one way or the other when the switch is changed.

Also are you on concrete or a field etc? Has it always been like this since you had it?

I only bought it a few weeks ago. I had it on a gravel yard , concrete and now in a garden. The hare and Tortoise is definitely working as going down the concrete lane I tried it in both.

What tracks is it on? Rubber block pads do not like turning on anything.
Another suggestion is Have you lifted the rubber mat in the cab? Not on case machines but had several occasions with Hitachi's having to chisel mud out from under floor mats to get the tracking right.

No block pads fitted . Just standard rubber tracks. . I don’t think it’s dirt in around bottom of levers. When engine is stopped the levers both seem to travel same distance forward and back and freely. All good suggestions.
Thank you all

I would still check under the Matt. I've seen it very well compacted under there. Only way I could tell as I am familiar with the model and thought I wasn't getting enough movement.
Also had one with an offcut of rebar got in there jamming it up,but this only had a problem in 1 direction.
Lifting the Matt should also give you access to look at the linkages

Hi. Only getting back now. I found the problem. Took mat out and give cab a good cleaning, not much dirt in and around levers. I took the L shaped panel off that runs along under front of cab and along the side under the Door. There are 2 solenoids on valves that are under the track levers. I removed the wires and it started to steer as should. I put panel back on and it continues to revert back to not steering properly intermittently. There is also a small inline gauze filter on the oil pipe feed built into a union and it was very clean so no oil flow issues. . I haven’t had a chance to get back to it but it’s either a connection issue or faulty/ sticking Solenoid. I hope this helps someone. Thanks
