can't see why the road was in imminent danger of collapse ... only the wall above the pavement level damaged? .... figures are a load of crap .... and where did all the stone go??

I'd image they paid the contractor a good wedge to dispose of the failed wall .....won't be wasted though , plenty of wealthy people round here love it when it's piled up tidily 😁

To be fair everyone will complain about the waste of money if the wall was built instead of the fence. Highway work is impossible as everyone has an opinion and knows how to do your job.

can you seriously see that that 20 odd feet of wall, rebuilt, would cost more than what they have done :oops::oops::oops:o_O

They wouldn't rebuild 20ft. They would rebuild the whole lot. If it is council owned it will be on the structures inspection regime. So either it's been classed as unsafe or more more likely engineers have refused to sign it off as safe as it is unquantifiable by modern engineering practices

I've followed this fiasco for years ...
know someone affected by it .....
the dramatisation was wonderfully done and am so pleased at the furore it produced ....
all of the twunts responsible should do time and Fujitsu should foot the entire cost of every last thing to do with the whole episode .....
as for compensation - what they've been offered is a bloody joke ...
a couple of million each would not compensate for what so many of those poor sods went through ....
and some are no longer even with us to see their names cleared
greatest travesty of justice the British legal system has ever seen ....
and as for the PO having the powers that they did ...
guilty 'til proven innocent essentially, with no way of proving your innocence ...
every last one of 'em should be locked up ...

they KNEW exactly what was going on :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

" The firm, which reported an operating loss of almost £210 million, is jointly owned by Goldman Sachs’ West Street Infrastructure Partners and private equity firm, Antin, which are both based in tax havens, Delaware and Luxembourg respectively. "
HTF can they remain in business trading with these sorts of losses ... Oh wait they've close on a billion quidsworth of contracts tucked in their belts as leverage 🤬 🤬 🤬
