Are these any good? The dealer I bought my ripper from got in touch today saying he had ordered too many and was offering a discount. We haven’t talked numbers yet but I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with them. The one I’m looking at is the 3.2x1.7m 3.5t.

I've got the general plant trailer. Tows lovely easy to move.
Is wide, made a slot in tail gate to sit behind the ramps

always used to make decent trailers
cracking across beds is usually caused by loading without rear support Dan
The way it’s designed means the skid supports do nothing (unless you are loading a 13 tonner up them!), and they aren’t adjustable.

do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better

GH1054BT utilises the tailgate support very well. Too well sometimes as you have to get someone to inch the tow tug forward and force the support back enough to be able to lift the tailgate back up.
that's the problem with that type of support ..... once loaded
you then have the reverse problem when unloading :(

It's an entirely better proposition than lifting the rear axle of the tow vehicle off the ground and taking of down hill
Thats always an adventure . You have to make a decision and choose forward or backwards ASAP! Only happened to me once with a 3t on the back of my old LM126

no .. you need 'proper' drop down supports ... no supports, as you rightly say is only going to result in the scenario you describe ....
and over stressing the trailer's integrity ..
I can well see why the integral leg idea is used, as the manufacturers can not control loading/unloading, once the trailer is in use and being loaded beyond design capabilities, without suitable propping....
you put a 'stick' over your knee to snap it ...
's what's happening to the trailer without adequate supports.

I know in an ideal world drop downs/adjustables are the solution, but sadly they rarely get used and the integral props are a poor compromise
