Bonded windscreen

I have got to replace a windscreen on a project 8 3CX, its bonded in so should not be a problem to fit one once i get the sealant, My question is does anyone have any tips on removing the old one, i dont really want to smash it out, is there a way of breaking the bond around the edge of the windscreen.

I generally go round the edge with a Stanley knife or similar,the pros use a cheese wire.

Cheers wire type cutter, or a long bladed Stanley knife will work. I have got a manual cutter, which is basically a handle with a right angle blade, and a T handle on a cord, anchored near the blade, you then pull it round the edge of the window to cut the sealant. I will find a pic...

Last windscreen we had fitted, the guy used a cheese wire, but it was a fancy git of kit that sucked to the screen and winched the cutting wire round! Clever, but very expensive I reckon.

Have you priced up a windscreen specialist to fit it for you?, they are usually not that expensive.

Cant find it now, but there's a firm that specialises in "plant and farm machinery glass" that advertises in the tractor and plant mags.

AC Glazing are great, and have put me in touch with other equally good glass people when I’ve been out of there area.

Yep use AC Plant Glazing myself for any replacement windows that need bonding.
