Fitted new 120ah 1000 CCA battery, hopefully do the trick.and whilst your in the battery hole .,there are a fair number of wires and a couple of big connectors give em a wipe and a look over ,a place for rodents
now all you need to do is confirm ALL of your glow plugs're functionalFitted new 120ah 1000 CCA battery, hopefully do the trick.
It's not been cold enough to know yet DaveIf it’s still acting up I’d probably just replace the glow plugs.. may be horribly stuck in and awkward to get at
actually on top of the engine ,properly accessable ,starter on the other hand ,If it’s still acting up I’d probably just replace the glow plugs.. may be horribly stuck in and awkward to get at
disconnect the links and measure each individually - BRIEFLY - soon tell if one isn't drawing current -- don't cook themI know the voltage drops when on pre heat, how would I find out the functionality of them from here?
V8 so what your saying is disconnect 3 of them and repeat what I did before and see if there is a dip in voltage off the multimeter/ battery and see if each one draws?disconnect the links and measure each individually - BRIEFLY - soon tell if one isn't drawing current -- don't cook them
I’d disconnect all of them and get a wire from the positive on the battery and touch each one individually and if it sparks when connected it’s probably a good oneV8 so what your saying is disconnect 3 of them and repeat what I did before and see if there is a dip in voltage off the multimeter/ battery and see if each one draws?
Not funny now all this glowplugs talk. ...glowplugs now playing up on little Perkins in compact tractor. Intermittently work mostly not.I’d disconnect all of them and get a wire from the positive on the battery and touch each one individually and if it sparks when connected it’s probably a good one
I can’t remember recommended resistance but if you remove the bus bar and do an individual resistance check terminal-block you should see the same resistance over all four. I’ll try to find out when I’m back in work. Otherwise it’s switches, relays and wiring checks. Not funny now all this glowplugs talk. ...glowplugs now playing up on little Perkins in compact tractor. Can I find the fault....can I heck. Proper swine and it's a dog to start without em
I’ve run a wire from the buz bar through a bulb and can keep an eye on the power to them as I use themI can’t remember recommended resistance but if you remove the bus bar and do an individual resistance check terminal-block you should see the same resistance over all four.
