Hello I’m looking for a 3.5T Tipper Truck for Waste Removal & aggregate supply & best bodies.

I would prefer it to be light but sturdy enough to do lots of work.

Budget is about £10k

Any suggestions, i know 7.5T & 32T tippers are better but i cant access that right now.

Any advice would be appreciated highly

Isuzu grafter.will legally carry more than anything else and is better built. Although very basic

Hard to make the 3.5t tippers pay without being overloaded 100% of the time, mate had one for small deliveries but just not big enough so it was changed for something larger within a few months. Problem with 3.5t tippers is not just the payloads but tend to be owned by mongs who drive round with 3t+ in the back so they get a lot of abuse

Grafter have the best payload but even then it's sub 1.2t legally on the back. 7.5t wagons bring a load of paperwork, 6-10 weekly checks (although you'd still need tacho for the 3.5t) and needing to have it in a yard somewhere but used 7.5t are cheaper and payloads are upto 4t so you get a load more bang for your pounds

My mistake should be ok if just on its own but if he hooks a trailer up would be tacho as it's all hire and reward
Fair enough...I'd be interested to know how many on here run tachos with 3.5t and trailer?😬
May or may not have gone through my mind doing a delivery yesterday in the pickup and ifor...

I don't run a tacho, but stay within the 60 mile radius plus don't charge for any transport moving my machines or materials for my own use and driving isn't my main/only job.
I've been close to the radius limit but unsure if there would be any leeway for a one off job without needing the tacho or how it would work if collecting a new/new to me, machine from outside that radius

Go and read all about it on the gov.co.Uk pages…

There are exceptions from O-Licensing and among many other things a 100k radius may apply to some people in some circumstances..
It’s complicated!
