About to pull the trigger on a new KX027-4 - talk me out of it!

As the title says, got a great deal on a brand new 2024 plated KX027-4 High Spec with hydraulic hitch. Want something towable.

Other options toyed with were the TB225, as the narrowed tracks appeal for tighter spaces (although the limited reach and lifting capacities for the class ultimately put me off), The E27 which seems a very capable machine, although a nudge heavier, and the new JCB 26c which seems a great machine ticking all the boxes, though I had doubts over the Kohler engine when set against the 4 cylinder Kubota.

Anyone fancy taking my logic to account and trying to talk me out of the purchase before I pull the trigger….? 😂 TIA

Which E27? With or without a bum? End of the day, which agents will support you the best? Whats the money like? 32K+vat with no buckets?

@Vinpetrol . Pretty sure he's chuffed with his!?

To be honest it's probably where I'd be looking for max legally towable machine. Decent size engine, nice spacious cab, good reach etc. I like the fact you could have it on steel tracks and still just be within the weight limit

I mean you wont go wrong with it and they are reliable but last new one I used (iirc was a kx35 ?? ) was uncomfortable and noisey and they sell and resell on reputation.

Standard tailswing version (also like the option of the added counterweight). Both Bobcat and Kubota are about 30 miles away and good agents so don’t think that would factor. Kx027 plated 2024 was a tad cheaper than the E27 with 2nd aux specced and keyless start. Bobcat 0% finance though…

How do they handle a bulk bag of sand, both blade down 360, and low lift tracking? In all the times i’ve driven one never tested it.
800K bag -- fine from the ground keeping it low and close to the machine - I've used it plenty of times to move bags around and even double stack them
Fine taking a bag from an ifor trailer
No good for taking a bag from a tractor trailer as your boom will be too far out to get the height and it will start tipping when you try and move it

You’re exactly where I was maybe six years ago with the purchase of my first 2.7t. The free finance over five years on the bobcat made it considerably cheaper the Kubota.

I’m on my second now, a great machine for arb type work and carries the tiltrotator well when needed.

Yes delighted with mine . I’ve had it 2 years . Hi spec running direct mount ( till @CPS gets around to it) tilt rotator which it handles really well . Lifts very well , lovely and smooth to work , it’s also fast .
Any questions ask away and I will do my best to answer .
Just remembered one thing slight disappointment . My little Volvo has boom slew on prop button on lever which is really nice . The hi spec kubota has the prop buttons on the levers but for some reason the boom slew is on floor pedal . They should of utilised the prop control on the lever

I guess they feel something like a rotating grab would better benefit from the thumb rollers on each stick, but wouldn’t you think they would have a diverter to the slew for all the times that second aux is unused? 👍
We have a contract with a holiday park group, the work is an even split between digging utilities/concrete bases/paving, and flailing hedges/mulching wild areas/tree management. Our Doosan DX30z is too big both legally and just physically to keep towing about. I know the KX will do the job, as i’m sure will the E27 and most others in the class. Was thinking someone might point out there is a 5 series on the way soon to replace the 4, or some other unknown - but as has been said can’t really go wrong with the Kubota. Loved everything about the Tak TB325R but the zero swing is no use to me.
Think a rotating grab will be good when laying kerbs, but really the second aux is a future proofing decision, not really something we use at the moment but something I don’t think i’ll regret.

I stuck a rotating intermercato grab on mine , I had to put a 2nd circuit in as mine is not hi-spec and the non hi-spec models unfortunately have a mechanical circuit (sorry I dont know the technical term) so I have to drive the rotation of the grab using one foot pedal and the grab action using the other -- it's cumbersome to start but once I've got used to it , it's fine --- but if I had the hi-spec model I would have been able to use the joystick.

What were the prices for the machines?
I was recently contacted about upgrading and quoted £34,640 plus vat for a JCB 26c "pro" with 3 year servicing and bare stick no buckets

I did wonder if I could move it from foot pedal to the prop control with a switchover button and do away with foot pedal .

Still waiting on the JCB rep getting back to me with price unfortunately. Quoted a ball park for a 26c with lifting kit, second aux, 3 buckets and hydraulic hitch of £34,500 “ish”. Lead time he said on a factory order is currently May. Sat in one at the Yorkshire agri show on Tuesday, is a lovely machine with all the steel panels etc, cabin is really nice , however tracking pedals are large and don’t fold away but just nit picking really lol.

How much were you quoted for the E27? They were incredibly expensive when I was looking in November.
